MANZOOR AHMAD
The founder of the MHD, has Masters Degree in English Literature and Economics. He is a retired Senior Banker with over 50 years service out of which for 27 years he served overseas.
During his service in the Middle East he and some of his friends realized that the illiterate Pakistani labor was no more in acute demand because the infra-structure in oil rich Arab Countries had been completed and therefore further physical labor force was not needed. Banks, hospitals, hotels and restaurants, Government Departments, private employers even Grocery Stores needed educated and semi-educated workers. Unfortunately, our labor force could only offer its limbs to do donkey work. Even during construction boom in the UAE and other Arab Countries our illiterate Pakistani labor was unable to seek jobs because by 1996, the construction industry had entered computer era.
Therefore, Mr. Manzoor and his friends founded the MOVEMENT FOR HUMAN DEVELOPMENT (The MHD). The MHD is providing non-formal education to the boys and girls of Punjab's suburbs and urban slums.
