Literacy 70% of our rural population and slum dwellers are illiterate. The MHD provides free non-formal education at its literacy centers which are mostly established in rural areas and Lahore slums. In these centers, we teach functional subjects such as Urdu, English and Arithmetic up to primary level. Apart from the educational needs, the MHD also arranges periodical medical check up of the students and their family members. So as there is minimum drop out of students, the MHD volunteers maintain strong ties with the mothers of the kinds who instinctively wish to see their kids to be prosperous when they grow up.
